Next to black I really love colors like beige, nude and cream, as you can see in this outfit. I bought these platform heels a while ago, but I've hardly worn them. Which is a shame, cause I really like them and they're very comfortable! The fur vest gives the outfit a little extra. I got it from a girlfriend, she always knows how to surprise me with amazing vintage clothing, so sweet! Anyway, enjoy the look :)

28.02.12 | Mr. Lagerfeld aka Mr. Collar seems to have made a big impression on the fashion world again. Not with his collections this time, but with his style. The collar is hot! What's next, cut-off leather gloves?! Collars make it very easy to spice up your top or blouse. I really love these Karl collars, but Romwe, Marni for H&M and Akira also have a great collection of collars. If you find a real collar a bit too much, you can also go for a collar necklace. Back to the outfit of today. I got this silver metallic jacket due to a collaboration with fashionbrand IKKS. I've had it for a while, but I still love it very much! Just like these leather pants you've seen before. I prefer to give basic looks a little edge and wearing leather pants is the perfect way to do that. I'm also wearing my new spikey necklace I bought at River Island. They have such amazing jewelry! Enjoy and have a great Sunday :)

I consider these Vans to be the typical comfy summer sneakers, but the leather also makes them really stylish. I can't wait to wear these with jeans shorts, a cool tee and black sunnies. Yes, I'm a bit of a Rachel Zoe addict, ever since I saw the first episode of The Rachel Zoe Project. I really like her bohemian chic style and decided to give flare jeans a try. With a bit of anxiety I must admit, I've been wearing skinny jeans for so many years. But I really love these flare jeans, they make my little legs look so much taller. 20.02.12 | I didn't leave New York empty handed. I had my eye on a Marc by Marc Jacobs laptop case to protect my MacBook Air in style. I love it. I feel so great every time I get my MacBook out. Which is everyday, so you can imagine how happy I have been ;) I went to the Marc by Marc Jacobs store at Bleecker Street, Bleecker Street has so many lovely stores. I also bought my Steven by Steve Madden studded suede loafers here. Can't wait to wear them! Of course I did a bit more shopping, but these are the items I truly love the most!

16.02.12 | Number one on my to-do-before-I-die list: Go to New York! You can imagine that a dream came true when I visited The Big Apple a while ago.
The city is so impressive, it was almost to much to handle. It took me a while to realize that I was actually living my New York dream. When I started opening my eyes, the city got to me more each day. There's so much to see, so much to do, so much to discover, a trip to New York is an adventure filled with beauty and fun. Beautiful shoes equals screaming women. That was definitely true at the Nelly High Heels Tour in my hometown Groningen. The Nelly High Heels Tour is a promotional event to show of Nelly's new shoe collection in several European countries. There are not only lots of shoes to watch at the event, there are also shoes to win!

I was asked to help the organisation get ready for this amazing event. While me and some other bloggers were lining up goodiebags, women were lining up outside the &ZO. It was maximum craziness when the doors opened. Nelly decided to give away 220 shoes, because there were so many woman working their way inside. So yeah, you could say the event was a huge succes! As well as the collection, Nelly has done a great job yet again. So thank you Nelly for not only inviting me to help, but also letting me pick my favorite pair of high heels!

Yes, some new items! Bought two dresses on sale and wore the black/white one to the wedding of my brother in law. As you probably have noticed, the Celine boston bag is very hot right now, so I wasn't surprised when I found this knock-off. I think it looks really good, especially for $28,99! I've had a busy, but great week! Last Saturday I went waterbiking or watercycling or whatever it's called in English. The weather was amazing, the perfect day to be outside. On Sunday me and my friends went to Slagharen, an amusement park, and we had a blast while riding roller coasters and playing around. Tuesday I had to perform with drum and break orchestra, Foenkk (I'm the vocalist), at Oosterpoort, a big concert hall in Groningen. It was amazing, the sound was great and the stage was huge! Can't wait for our next performance at Noorderzon, Groningen on the 25th of August. Anyway, here are some snapshot, enjoy!

Is it true, is it a rumor? Internet is going crazy about the Topshop in Amsterdam news! Blogger Sanne van Huis from WE ARE FASHION was brave enough to call the Topshop press bureau in England and just asked them about it, you go girl!

So it seems that Topshop is NOT opening their own store in Amsterdam, but they will sell a selection of their line at SPRMRKT, a shop at Rozengracht Amsterdam. The shop-in-shop topshop will open on the10th of June. More information: WE ARE FASHION.

The Dutch Liberation festival was yesterday. I love this free festival and I've been a loyal visitor for a lot of years. This year the line up in my home town Groningen was great, since there were two of my favorite international soul artists: Ben L'Oncle Soul and Raphael Saadiq. Their shows were amazing, but overall it was a great day thanks to the weather, the relaxed vibe and my festival partners in crime: Jenja and Yvon. Looking forward to next year already!

THE GOOD LIFE

Queen's day 2011 was amazing! Normally me and my group of friends gather in the city to celebrate the queens birthday with lots of drinks and loud music. Despite the party vibe, we always find it to be too crowded. This year we decided to avoid the party in the city and create our own at Kaap Hoorn, a club/lounge/restaurant/bar at the Hoornse Meer, a lake in Groningen. The best decision ever made, we had such a great time! Maximum relaxation aka the good life. A queen's day tradition is born!

Aside from relaxing, I also did a little shopping this weekend. H&M has translated the fluo trend in their collection for SS11. I love H&M pricetags, but I'm not a fan of spotting other women in my H&M items. Which is a very common thing as you all know! So I prefer to just buy my basics at H&M: it's cheap and they have basics in every possible way. I collected my favourite basic fluos for you, which you can easily combine with items you already have. Quite handy for a 5 Piece French Wardrobe. I also browsed the H&M shop for some whites, for white's an easy colour to combine fluo with and it's a lovely summer colour.

My wardrobe was in desperate need of a spring make-over. Especially since I wore my sunglasses for the first time in 2011 yesterday, yeah! I was thinking about trying the 5 Piece French Wardrobe thing, but I really needed some basics to start the "competition" with. Blake Lively is the new face of Chanel's Mademoiselle handbag collection! The ads will be published in April, I can't wait! I'm a huge Gossip Girl fan ever since I read the first book when I was about 15 years old. I remember buying the other parts a few years later, an embarassing moment, because the Gossip Girl books were part of the children's section...! Now that the show's on tv I enjoy Gossip Girl even more; more drama and lots of fashion! Serena and Blake both great style. Aside from Blake, I also think it's great that Karl Lagerfeld doesn't go for the typical model, he's inspired by ladies with real style and personality, like Blake, Lily Allen and Emma Watson. As you can read, I'm almost as enthusiastic as Blake herself, so this post is inspired by Miss Lively/Van der Woodsen.

Valentino has designed a seven piece collection for GAP. The ruffles make the collections very characteristic, we've seen them in Valentino's own collections. The denim creates a fully GAP look.

Virtual Inspiration: H&M and Mango spring preview

While most of us are getting ready for the winter holidays, the fashionworld already thinking about spring 2011. I spotted a few spring previews for H&M and Mango, two of my favorite shops. Both of them work with a contrast between minimalism and strong colors, like dark red, coral and orange, versus female shapes and soft fabrics and colors.

I'm not a fan of minimalism and the strong orange and red. I do like the fierce coral though. Still I'd rather go for the soft side of spring's fashion. I'm still really into nude, beige and pastel, so I'm pleased to see those colors for upcoming spring. I'm also a fan of the soft and flowing fabrics like chiffon and satin. What do you think of the spring previews?
